Current fieldwork

Beside work in support of discrete research projects, doctoral theses, and publications of material from the site, current field research at Aphrodisias is focused on four major projects – anastylosis in the Sebasteion, conservation in the Hadrianic Baths, and excavation in the South Agora and Tetrapylon Street. The projects in the South Agora and Tetrapylon Street are designed to connect these two important urban zones and to create a new visitor route through the centre of ancient Aphrodisias. The projects are parts of a larger vision to connect Sebasteion, Street, South Agora, and Baths, and to make the major monuments of the site more accessible .

Information about the four projects is listed here in gallery form.
